Many clients book once they have entered their second trimester. Booking in your second trimester provides plenty of time for planning your session and making sure it is what you envision. I take a limited amount of birth and newborn sessions each month to allow flexibility for mom’s due date. Spaces fill fast, so please inquire as soon as possible. Occasionally, I have room for last minute bookings, so I encourage you to contact me.
Ideally, 30-36 weeks is the prime window for getting those gorgeous belly shots. Every individual is different, so please book ahead to provide adequate time to reserve your date.
Having a baby is an incredible journey. There are so many details that we as mothers miss during the hours leading up to meeting our baby. Having a photographer follow you from active labor through a few hours after delivery provides documentation of those moments usually forgotten or never seen. These moments you will treasure afterward! During your consultation, we customize how you want your birth session to be photographed.
After the baby has made their grand entrance, I come to the hospital to capture the details of your baby’s first moments. Typically this session takes place within 24 hours.
I photograph newborns typically from 5 – 14 days of age. This age is the perfect time frame for when your newborn is sleepy and flexible for those newborn poses. Sessions with older newborns are possible up to 21 days after birth; however certain poses and their sleepy nature cannot be guaranteed.
The studio is fully equipped with newborn wraps, headbands, and outfits. Props are available depending on the session booked. Heirlooms or special mementos can be brought into the studio if requested. The studio is also stocked with gowns for maternity and can be used again during the newborn session. A range of dresses, suspenders, and bow ties are on hand for sibling shots. Please make sure to ask about this during your consultation.
The studio is a warm atmosphere to make baby comfortable. Siblings session that are booked with a newborn session will take place first followed by family shots. Once siblings and family shots are completed, they will be free to go home with dad or designated family or friend. The newborn session then continues which provides a relaxing and sleepy environment for your baby.
Bring treats for young children, which also work perfectly as a bribe during the session. Moms make sure to remember to bring a water bottle to ensure you are adequately hydrated. Comfy chairs for mom and dad are also in the studio to ensure everyone is comfortable. Once you have booked your session, a session tips, and prep guide will be sent to you!
I do not travel for newborn sessions. Newborn sessions take place out of my studio with all the equipment and props needed for your session. The studio is set up to maintain a warm atmosphere for baby to be happy during those cute nude poses. Milestone sessions also are typically done in the studio due to the clean environment, choice of props, and allows more flexibility in the time the session takes place.
Turnaround time is approximately two to three weeks. When a gallery is completed, a website link will be made available for digital images to be downloaded directly to your computer. Super easy and stress-free! If you purchased prints or products, the turnaround time is dependent on the product and shipping times. Holiday season turnaround times can take three to four weeks depending on the session. Clients are notified during their consultation about the turnaround timeframe for their session.
There are multiple collections available to suit your budget. If you are interested in bundling your sessions or interested in booking a birth session, a payment plan can be discussed. Please ask during your consultation.
A retainer is required to book your session. The retainer is a non-refundable fee that comes out of your total session cost; this allows me to hold your session date exclusively.
